Practical Work ExperienceGetting practical, professional work experience is nearly impossible in the wedding planning industry, so to give our students the best possible start in their career and portfolio, the WPS are able to arrange work experience.
So far this season we have placed students in over 40 different work placements helping brides with their plans or shadowing professional planners.
If you have studied a WPS course in the past 12 months or are currently studying from home you need only pay a nominal administration fee and upgrade your insurance.
If you are not studying with the WPS, you may also attend work experience but need to pay a slightly larger fee to cover the additional liability insurance. If you later go on to study, we may be able to reimburse some of your fee.

Available placements:
August 28th 2011 (Sunday) ~ Wedding to be held in Islington, London and reception to be held in Hendon, London. 200 guests during the day and in the evening. This placement requires pre-wedding and on the day coordination. Please quote reference 'Deodata London '.
Instructions and Conditions
To book a place on a work experience placement, first read the terms and conditions on the accompanying document 'Work Exp Booking'. Then contact us at the School on 0131 208 4177 or by email to check if your chosen location is still available, finally return the attached form. (Please do not contact the school to ask how the process works or what the placement involves. This is explained in the 'Work Exp Booking' document.) All placements require a £30 contribution towards insurance on booking, or proof of your own public liability insurance for these types of activities. If you are planning to do more than one placement in the next 12 months pay £60 to do unlimited placements in a 12 month period. For non-WPS students, the insurance fee is £199. If you wish to do the above placements with a friend or relative you can, please let us know as insurance fee varies (normally up to a maximum of £60 to insure a non-trained person to accompany you).
Use it or lose it - this is a unique and expensive-to-run facility available to you at very little cost. Be brave, take advantage, it is the best way to learn!!!
Please be aware that your fee is non-refundable unless the bride and groom should cancel your placement. Although you only pay £30, we pay up to £199 per person to the insurers so we absolutely cannot allow refunds if you pull out and you will be required to pay the difference up to £199. No excuses. See booking form for more info. We cannot accept any responsibility for the bride or grooms' behaviour, their choice of theme, change of dates and all placements are accepted at your own risk. Your liability insurance only covers you for damage done by you to other people. It is not health cover for you. |
